Caitlyn Bollinger was born 1998 and grew up in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia.
She was first introduced to art when she was young when her father introduced her to photography and still life drawing. She decided to practice art more seriously in 2015 and 2016 while studying Visual Arts for her HSC. Her Year 12 art major 107 doorways and the girl who heard colour was inspired by Gus Van Sant’s 108 Portraits and her experience with synesthesia.
She took gap years in 2017, 2018, and 2019. During these years she has been expanding her art making, as well as running stalls at markets to promote her artwork. She intends on studying Art History & Art Curatorship and Visual Arts at ANU in 2020.
She works mostly with photography and drawing (zentangle), and is inspired by contemporary art and artists. She also works occasionally with ceramics, painting, and life drawing.
